Preparation
- Set out two small plates. On one plate, spread out the granulated sugar. On the second plate, pour 1 ounce of fresh orange juice. Dip the rims of two cocktail glasses into the orange juice, then into the sugar to coat. Set the glasses aside.
Mixing
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the remaining orange juice, pomegranate juice, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 to 20 seconds until well chilled.
- Fill the prepared glasses with crushed ice, packing it gently but firmly. Strain the orange mixture evenly into both glasses, ensuring it fills each one to the brim.
Serving
- Garnish each drink with a slice of orange and a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.
