Preparation
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat until it turns chestnut brown, stirring frequently (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar, stirring until smooth, about 2-3 minutes, then let it chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (about 162°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
Mixing the Batter
- Transfer the brown butter mixture to a large mixing bowl, stir in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Mix in the flour, oats, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon using a spatula until just combined.
- Fold in most of the chocolate chips, saving some for the topping.
Baking
- Transfer the dough to the prepared pan, pressing evenly into the corners. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool for 15-20 minutes before cutting.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or refrigerate for two weeks. These bars can be frozen for up to a month.
