- In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together the tomato paste, water, apple cider vinegar, honey, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt until everything is well combined.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally. Watch for those little bubbles!
- Once simmering, reduce the heat to low. Semi-cover the saucepan and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Take the saucepan off the heat and allow the ketchup to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the warm ketchup into your container of choice. For best flavor, let it chill in the fridge for a minimum of a few hours (or overnight) before diving in.
- Your homemade ketchup will stay fresh in an airtight container for about 4 weeks in the fridge.
