- In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Stir well to blend all the dry ingredients with the milk.
- Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook gently, stirring continuously to prevent burning, for about 10 to 30 minutes.
- Add the marshmallows once the mixture is heated through and stir until fully melted.
- Remove from heat and pour into mugs, topping with additional marshmallows or whipped cream as desired.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently. For a festive twist, consider adding peppermint extract or spices.
