Ingredients

For the Croutons
  • 9 slices French Bread, cut into 1-inch cubes Day-old bread works best for absorption.
  • 12 tablespoons salted butter, melted and at room temperature Half can be substituted with olive oil for a lighter option.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced Fresh garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped Can substitute with other herbs.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat, melt the butter fully but do not let it bubble.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, then add chopped parsley and remove from heat.
  4. Add the bread cubes to the skillet and toss to coat each piece in the garlic butter mixture.
Baking
  1. Place the skillet into the preheated oven and bake for 15-17 minutes, tossing halfway through, until the croutons are crispy and lightly browned.
  2. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider using flavored oils or experimenting with different breads. Ensure not to overcrowd the skillet while baking.
