  • 1 medium red onion, sliced thin (optional) A bite of sharpness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F and position the oven rack to the highest level for optimal bun toasting.
  2. Mix the beef: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, egg, minced garlic, garlic powder, seasoned salt, hamburger seasoning, salt, and pepper. Using your hands, mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the patties: Divide the meat mixture into equal portions (about 4-5) and gently flatten each portion into round burger patties, making a slight indent in the center to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
Cooking
  1. Heat the oil: In a non-stick pan, heat the canola oil over medium heat. Allow the oil to warm up for about 5 minutes until shimmering.
  2. Cook the burgers: Place the patties in the heated pan and cook for about 5 minutes on one side. Flip carefully and cook for another 5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. Melt the cheese: Top each burger with a slice of cheddar cheese. Cover the pan to allow the cheese to melt for about 5 minutes.
  4. Toast the buns: Lightly spray or butter both sides of the hamburger buns and place them in the preheated oven, toasting until golden and crispy, approximately 5 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Assemble your cheeseburgers: Place each burger on a bun and add toppings of your choice—lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard are all fantastic options!

Notes

Storage recommendations: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave. You can prep the patties a day in advance! Just keep wrapped tightly in plastic wrap in the fridge until you're ready to cook.
