Preparation
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F and position the oven rack to the highest level for optimal bun toasting.
- Mix the beef: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, egg, minced garlic, garlic powder, seasoned salt, hamburger seasoning, salt, and pepper. Using your hands, mix until just combined.
- Shape the patties: Divide the meat mixture into equal portions (about 4-5) and gently flatten each portion into round burger patties, making a slight indent in the center to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
Cooking
- Heat the oil: In a non-stick pan, heat the canola oil over medium heat. Allow the oil to warm up for about 5 minutes until shimmering.
- Cook the burgers: Place the patties in the heated pan and cook for about 5 minutes on one side. Flip carefully and cook for another 5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Melt the cheese: Top each burger with a slice of cheddar cheese. Cover the pan to allow the cheese to melt for about 5 minutes.
- Toast the buns: Lightly spray or butter both sides of the hamburger buns and place them in the preheated oven, toasting until golden and crispy, approximately 5 minutes.
Assembly
- Assemble your cheeseburgers: Place each burger on a bun and add toppings of your choice—lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard are all fantastic options!
Notes
Storage recommendations: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave. You can prep the patties a day in advance! Just keep wrapped tightly in plastic wrap in the fridge until you're ready to cook.
