For the Pork Chops
  • 4 pieces pork chops Choose bone-in for enhanced juiciness and flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream Opt for organic for higher quality.
  • 6-8 whole garlic cloves Sautéing releases essential oils.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin is recommended.
  • Fresh parsley For garnish, optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Generously sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the pork chops.
  2. In a large, heavy-bottomed cast iron skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Add the pork chops and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 145°F.
  2. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside on a plate to rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add the whole garlic cloves and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Place the pork chops back into the skillet, bathing them in the creamy sauce, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Serving
  1. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a nutritional upgrade, consider adding sautéed spinach or kale, or serving with quinoa or brown rice. Vegan option: Substitute with grilled portobello mushrooms and coconut cream.
