Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish generously with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of granulated sugar, the egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer to blend until smooth and creamy.
- Roll out one tube of the crescent rolls in the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together.
- Carefully spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the crescent roll layer.
- Roll out the second tube of crescent rolls over the cream cheese layer and press the seams together.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg white until frothy, then brush over the top layer.
- In another small bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle it over the egg wash.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Let the bars cool in the baking dish for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.
- Slice into squares and serve.
Notes
These bars can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator. They also freeze well for up to 3 months.
