Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed The riper, the better—seek those brown spots!
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Use unsalted for better control over the saltiness.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Feel free to substitute with brown sugar for a caramel-like flavor.
  • 1 large egg, beaten Room temperature produces better results.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Go for pure vanilla for maximum flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Fresh baking soda is key for a good rise.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances sweetness.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour If gluten-free, use a 1:1 blend.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Milk or dark, it’s up to your taste preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter, stirring until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and stir until incorporated.
  5. Sprinkle baking soda and a pinch of salt over the wet ingredients and mix gently.
  6. Fold in the flour carefully to avoid overmixing.
  7. Delicately fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
