Ingredients
Method
Prepare the Blueberry Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of blueberries, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 cup cold water. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar.
- Simmer for about 5-7 minutes, mashing the blueberries until they burst and release their juices.
Strain the Syrup
- Once the blueberries are soft, place a fine mesh sieve over a medium bowl and pour the mixture through it, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible. Set aside to cool.
Mix the Lemonade
- In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the cooled blueberry syrup and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir gently to combine.
Serve
- Fill a tall glass with crushed ice, pour the blueberry lemonade over it, and garnish with lemon slices and a few fresh blueberries.
Notes
Mix variations with club soda for a sparkling twist. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days, and serve chilled.
