Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Line a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar using a hand mixer on medium speed until well blended (about 1 minute).
- Reduce mixer speed to low and add vanilla extract followed by the eggs, mixing until just combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
- Using a spatula, gently fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until edges are golden brown and center looks set. Test with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling
- Let the bars cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store tightly wrapped in plastic wrap in an airtight container for up to 4 days at room temperature or refrigerate for a week. These bars can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
