Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Line a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar using a hand mixer on medium speed until well blended (about 1 minute).
  4. Reduce mixer speed to low and add vanilla extract followed by the eggs, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
  6. Using a spatula, gently fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top.
  2. Bake for 35-40 minutes until edges are golden brown and center looks set. Test with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling
  1. Let the bars cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store tightly wrapped in plastic wrap in an airtight container for up to 4 days at room temperature or refrigerate for a week. These bars can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
