Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Opt for a rich, good-quality mayonnaise for creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt For a lighter option, Greek yogurt adds a tangy twist.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice Freshly squeezed from about 1 lime.
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic Fresh garlic provides a punch of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adds mild heat; McCormick’s chili powder is a reliable choice.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin For a warm, earthy taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust according to desired spiciness.
  • to taste none salt and pepper To enhance flavors.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream or Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until well blended and smooth. For a smoother consistency, use a food processor or blender.
  3. Taste your sauce and adjust the seasonings, adding more lime juice for tang or cayenne pepper for heat.
  4. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

Best enjoyed the same day it's made, but flavors deepen if stored. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
