Ingredients
  

For rimming the glass
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider Opt for unfiltered for the best flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar You can substitute with brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Freshly ground works wonders.
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt Adds balance to sweetness.
For the cocktail
  • 4 ounces tequila Blanco tequila is ideal; consider brands like Espolon or Patron.
  • 8 ounces apple cider Fresh, local cider is best; avoid sugary, preserved varieties.
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice Always use fresh for that bright, zesty kick.
  • crushed ice For shaking and serving.
  • apples, thinly sliced Use sweet varieties like Fuji or Honeycrisp for garnish.
  • cinnamon sticks For garnish and extra aroma.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Set out two small plates. On the first plate, pour the apple cider. On the second plate, mix together sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Wet the rim of each lowball glass with apple cider, then roll the edge in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Mixing the Cocktail
  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apple cider, fresh lime juice, and crushed ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Serving
  1. Fill each prepared lowball glass with fresh crushed ice.
  2. Strain the cocktail mixture evenly into each glass over the ice.
  3. Garnish each drink with a thin apple slice and a cinnamon stick.

Notes

Ensure all liquids are at room temperature for the best blending. Leftover mixtures can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Adjust sweetness by adding a sprinkle of sugar if too tart.
